The Other Ballet Études
Sharon Seder Meko founded Ballet Etudes in 1986 to create a platform for young dancers to showcase this talent and fine-tune their dancing skills.
The ballet school is aimed at children aged between 9 and 18. It replicates the dancing experiences and lessons of professional ballet companies for younger dancers.
The ballet company has performed some classics through the years. Its popular productions include Peter Pan, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Jungle Book, Aladdin, and Coppélia. Ballet Etudes has also collaborated and performed with other companies like Metropolitan Youth Symphony, The Phoenix Symphony, etc.
Imagine how lovely it would be to watch young children perform ballet. They are such an inspiration to others, right? Check out our website for additional information.
More About Ballet Etudes Organization
Ballet Etudes is located at Huntington Beach in the Huntington Academy of Dance. It is a non-profit organization that aims to make ballet affordable for dancers and audiences. The ballet company specializes in the Cecchetti method (a technique for training dancers in a classical ballet created by Enrico Cecchetti, an Italian ballet master).
Professional training starts at the age of three years. The students progress through different levels and are taught complex styles as they reach advanced levels. Ballet Etudes performs three shows every year. One is the full version of The Nutcracker, and two are original ballets for children.
The organization also provides free ballet classes to three local schools with Title I status. Ballet Etudes also offers free tickets to kids with low-income parents to watch their yearly performance of The Nutcracker.
Sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? Ballet Etudes perform at Disney Land, the Orange County Fair, and many other events. You can find more information on our site.
