Dave Williamson
Dave Williamson is a stand-up comedian from Miami, Florida, and currently resides in El Segundo, California. His family was in the automobile business. He studied at the College of Business at Auburn University in Alabama and graduated in the year 2000.
Soon after, he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and started performing at comedy clubs. For a while, he did go back to Miami to help out with the family business, but he found himself moving towards comedy as a full-time career in the upcoming years.
According to Daniel Berkowitz from The SpitTake, "Williamson approaches every event, obstacle, and conversation with a palpable sense of awe - a childlike naiveté that is utterly charming and wholly endearing."
Career and Achievements
As he was working for his family business, Williamson realized that while he enjoyed seeing the smile on the face of his customers, what he most thoroughly loved was making them laugh.
Ever since he got into comedy, he has excelled at almost every comedy festival. He has been a part of the SLO Comedy Festival, Big Sky Comedy Festival, San Francisco Comedy Competition, Boston Comedy Festival, and many others.
Williamson was given the title of the Best Comedian in Miami by the Miami New Times, calling his comedy “unpretentious, genuinely interesting, and, most important, atomically funny.”
After being bestowed with this honor, Williamson and his family got into a travel trailer that was 25 feet long, and they set out to travel across North America, where the comedian performed. They eventually settled in Los Angeles after being on tour for 18 months.
This iconic trip ended up getting documented in a series of shorts on Nickelodeon’s NickMom Channel. He still continues to tour extensively, having his own shows and also being a part of the supporting act for Bert Kreischer.
Stand Up! Records released Williamson's second album titled Trying My Hardest, and it went on to become #1 in the iTunes Charts for Comedy. His material often plays on SiriusXM's stations.
His comedy material covers topics such as family, incidents from his younger days, and how he manages the roles of a father and husband. He has his own podcast that is named Meat Dave.
