Jeremy Piven
American comedian, actor, and producer Jeremy Piven was born on July 26, 1965. He received a Golden Globe and three Emmys for his portrayal of Ari Gold in the comedic series Entourage.
Early Life
Piven was born in Manhattan, New York. He grew up in a Ukrainian-Jewish Reconstructionist family. His parents, Byrne Piven, who died in 2002, and Joyce Hiller Piven, whose maiden name was Goldstein, were both actors and drama teachers. His sister, the director Shira Piven, was one of his first acting teachers, and his brother-in-law, Adam McKay, is also a director.
He went to Evanston Township High School and grew up in Evanston, Illinois. He played Bernardo in a camp production of West Side Story after graduating from high school at Harand Theater Camp in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. He went to Piven Theater Workshop in Illinois, which his parents started. He also went to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He transferred to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts after his first year. He dropped out of Tisch in his senior year to pursue a career in acting. He joined the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity by making a commitment. His time at the National Theater Institute's Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut, was fruitful.
Career
In 1990, he was in the movie "The Grifters," and in the same year, he played "Kahn" in the movie "White Palace." In 1992, he got his first big break when he was chosen to be a regular on "The Larry Sanders Show." In an episode of "Seinfeld" the following year, he played the role of George Constanza.
In 1993, he was in the movies "Twenty Bucks" and "Judgment Night," both action-thrillers. In the second one, he was in it with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Stephen Dorff. The actor had a very successful year after that.
He appeared in a few episodes of "Chicago Hope" and "Pride & Joy" in 1995. He was also in the movies "Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde," "Heat," and "Miami Rhapsody." From 1996 to 1998, Piven's career was at its peak. During that time, he worked on several movies and TV shows. He was a regular on the TV show "Ellen," and he also appeared on "The Drew Carey Show," "Grace Under Fire," "Coach," "Don King: Only in America," and "Cupid."
In 2014, he was in the crime thriller "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," which was a sequel to the film "Sin City," which came out in 2005.
