Ms. Pat
Patricia Williams, better known as Ms. Pat, is an American actress and comedian. She is best known for her show, The Ms. Pat Show, and for hosting the podcast, The Patdown with Ms. Pat.
Ms. Pat had had a very difficult childhood, and she was a young mother striving to support her children. She began doing comedy at her caseworker's encouragement and did her first solo in Atlanta. She only started doing better from there, and after she met her husband, she moved to Indianapolis. She honed her skills further in a well-known comic store.
Rise as an Author and Stand-Up Comedian
Ms. Pat was one of the contestants on the Last Comic Standing on NBC. She also participated in other shows and was invited to podcasts hosted by the likes of Joe Rogan, Bobby Lee, Ari Shaffir and Marc Maron, and Kevin Hart. She also appeared frequently as a guest talent on the Bob and Tom Show. Her first stand-up album, Rabbit, was quite successful as well.
Ms. Pat was also a part of the Netflix stand-up series, The Degenerates. She soon released her one-hour-long comedy special, "Ms. Pat: Y'all Wanna Hear Something Crazy?" It was highly rated by the audience and continues to be a hit. She also has a show based on her life, The Ms. Pat Show, that streams on the premium streaming service BET+. The first season comprised ten seasons, and it was renewed for a second season.
Ms. Pat also wrote her autobiography, co-writing it with another author. Rabbit- The Autobiography of Ms. Pat offers a humorous take on her difficult childhood, which was otherwise quite painful and traumatic, filled with incidents of sexual abuse and miscarriages. She acquired the name Rabbit when she started selling cocaine at one point to support her children.
Ms. Pat's podcasts have hundreds of subscribers. "The Patdown with Ms. Pat '' can be streamed on YouTube and offers a humorous take on many daily issues. She also uses it as a platform to raise awareness against racial prejudice and talks about women’s empowerment. Ms. Pat has been vocal about the rights of black women, and both her book and podcast share valuable insights about these issues, which makes it very relatable among female audiences.
