The “Buffalo Bills” is a professional American football team situated in Orchard Park, New York. The team is part of the East Division, which plays in the American Football Conference of the National Football League (NFL).
The Bills are part of the original franchises of the AFC, the team used to play their home games at the Ralph Wilson Stadium since the year 1972 until 2008, located in Buffalo, New York around the area of the Orchard Park.
The team has moved to play their home games at Toronto from the year 2008 until 2013, they have played one regular home game per season as members of the Bills Toronto Series. Their training camp is done at St. Fisher College, situated in Pittsford, New York near the area of Rochester.
In their history of success in the league, they have compiled outstanding records by being able to win for frequent conference championships and being the only NFL team to have reached the Super Bowl games four times.
However, the team has struggled after the year 1999, they were not able to reach the playoffs since that year. They also had streaks of losing seasons as they have not completed at least .500 since the year 2004.
The team has highlighted its most notable players, namely FB Cookie Gilchrist, DE Bruce Smith, QB Jack Kemp, G Bob Kalsu, RB O.J Simpson, QB Jim Kelly, WR Andre Reed and RB Thurman Thomas.
In the year 1960, the team was founded under the ownership of Ralph Wilson, Wilson was the team’s owner until his death in the year 2014 at the age of 95. The Bills have been under the new coaching of Doug Marrone in January 2013, Doug Marrone acted as the team’s head coach.
The franchise was sold to Kim Pegula and Terry after Wilson’s death, the selling of the franchise was approved by the rest of the league’s owners on October 8, 2014.
