Philadelphia Eagles Games
The “Philadelphia Eagles” is a professional American football team situated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The team is part of the East Division, which plays in the National Football Conference (NFC) of the National Football League (NFL).
In the year 1933, the team was founded as a replacement for the Frankford Yellow Jackets. At the time, the Jackets went bankrupt and failed to continue. The league immediately looked for a team replacement and after a year, an expansion franchise was awarded to Lud Wray and Bert Bell. A group under the leadership of Bert Bell had secured the rights to form an NFL’s franchise in the city of Philadelphia.
The name “Philadelphia Eagles” was ideally inspired from the Blue Eagle insignia of the National Recovery Administration, the Blue Eagle insignia is the centerpiece of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal.
The team struggled during their early years, however, after the year 1957, the team’s performance showed great improvements as they won consecutive championships.
The team’s gaming history was a success and most players from their club had been given tributes to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Reggie White, Chuck Bednarik, Bob Brown, Tommy McDonald, Pete Pihos, Norm Van Brocklin, Sonny Jurgensen and Steve Van Buren were the team players from the Eagles that had been inducted in the Professional Football Hall of Fame.
For the record, the Eagles achieved three NFL titles and made their way to Super Bowls twice, but lost against the Oakland Raiders in 1980 and New England Patriots in the year 2004. Among the National Football Conference (NFC) rivalries, the New York Giants against the Philadelphia Eagles is seen to be the oldest rivalry in the NFL and NFC.
In fact, the rivalry was ranked as the number 1 rivalry of all time according to the NFL Network. ESPN also reported that it is one of the most well-known and fiercest rivalries in the community of football gaming.
