Jacksonville Jaguars Games
The “Jacksonville Jaguars” is a professional American football team situated in Jacksonville, Florida. The team is part of the South Division, which plays in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL). The team plays their home games in the Everbank Field.
The Jacksonville Jaguars were founded in the year 1995 along with the Carolina Panthers, both were the league’s most active teams at that time. The idea of bringing the franchise in Jacksonville was evoked because of the famed college football rivalry between the University of Georgia Bulldogs and University of Florida Gators.
The city of Jacksonville desired more than just two teams, it seemed that the influence of playing football was irresistible. Even though Jacksonville was least recognized as an expansion contender for various reasons. However, Jacksonville had a massive number of supporters and other potential assets to qualify as an expansion team in the NFL.
The team officially joined the league in the year 1995 and won one South Division championship in the seasons 1998 and 1999. At the time, the team was part of the defunct American Football Conference Central (AFC). In the following years, the Jaguars made their way to the NFL playoffs six times.
Since the time of their franchise in 1995 until the year 2011, the team was owned by Wayne Weaver. At the cost of $700 million, the team was bought by Shahid Khan, Khan is a big businessman based in Pakistani.
In their late 2000s, the Jaguars had been struggling in the NFL playoffs. In the first quarter of 2014, the team has done some rebuilding by drafting new football players to the San Francisco 49ers during the 2014 NFL draft. The new draft picks would help improve the performance of the team. The team’s current logo features gold to become more attractive compared to their prior logo color.
